Here's what I have so far. Another thing I'm going to be doing is posting resources for the various stops on the trips to this blog (i.e. links, etc.).

pronounce place names
describe a scene, a car, etc.
write a personal response to an experience
write a letter suggesting one improvement to a location, etc.
describe the place as it would have been 100, 50, etc years ago
dictation from a brochure
listen to a tour guide and take notes
have students create or redesign a brochure for a site
"i spy" (beginners)
create a vocabulary journal from words encountered along the way
traffic signs and symbols
"spelling bee" using words from the trip
